Abstract
This article analyzes the narrative dimensions of Diamela Eltit’s Impuesto a la carne. Written as the memory of a failed nation in Chile, product of the authoritarianism that characterized its history since its emancipation, the novel derives into dystopian tale that denounces how political power made it the reason for its establishment. This bad calved nation has captured and with it is still experiencing; however, this nation in ruins still screams from it inside detention. Eltit, with this novel, faces the neoliberal imaginary that made us forget the social conquests, especially of the Chilean women.
